John grew up in South East London, England. As far back as he can remember, his parents would inspire him to embrace their music collection, from Pop, to Motown and Soul
As John reached his teens there was no question what course of genre he was to embark on having sat in his room for endless hours listening to some of London’s finest pirate stations , acid house was drawing him in.
By the early 90′s, John was surrounded by oldskool music lovers. He would visit DJ friends and watch them play vinyl for hours on end. His mates began taking him clubbing at the age of just sixteen that’s where Johns eyes were opened to the London underground music scene places like Bagleys & Disused Warehouses.
After becoming a regular on the clubbing circuit in London, followed by a six month summer in Kavos , Greece then his first trip to Ibiza at the age of 20, his love for House music was cemented.
The rest they say is history.
Since he burst into the UK’s dance music scene back in 1996 , John has worked harder than most at getting the people to sit up and take notice. His relentless, never say never attitude has pushed him to new heights and with his re-branding of music style and quirky mask in Jan 2011 he has set London club land alight and Johns aura has been reborn.
Successfully building himself a reputation as one of the leading male DJs in London, John has managed to hold a residency for one of the UKs fastest growing brands KinkyFunk.
He’s now rocked the UK’s top clubbing venues including Pacha, Egg, Ministry of Sound and Matter in London.
Versatile, inventive, energetic and passionate, he’s played alongside house legends such as Benny Benassi , Michael Woods, Dubfire , Hayley Parsons , Sebastien Leger, Nic Fancuilli , Zedd , Ant Brookes and Seb Fontaine impressing promoters and fellow DJs with his crowd jumping style.
Whether it’s house or classics that he’s playing, if you’ve ever seen John DJ, you’ll know that he’s as much a part of the crowd as he is masterful in the booth.
It was only a matter of time before the international stage sat up and took notice. 2008 saw John launch on to the American scene playing some of NYC’s hottest venues and of course the home of dance music – Ibiza.
John also takes to the airwaves hosting his weekly radio show on the world renown SelectukRadio every Friday from the hours of 1600-1800 giving his world wide audience a chance to experience his personality and love of music.
Add to all of the above his residency with Crystal Glitz which sees John Travel to Portugal for The Embassy Beach Club Nights & a January booking back in New York City its no wonder his reputation has grown at a phenomenal rate.
John Trill is one of the hardest working and down to earth DJ’s in the UK today. He cannot imagine his world without music and his motto Music Is My Life , 2012 is sure to be an even bigger and better year for John.
