T on J

T-on-J started DJing at school aged 12. He initially playing Soul & Swing, mixing artists like Soul4Real & Horace Brown (who remembers them??). Then he briefly moved to Jungle. This was short lived as the music was just too loud, fast & aggressive!! Garage then caught his ear but as soon as the scene changed, so did he!! It was when T-on-j first heard ”Jon Cutler’s – It’s Yours”, back in 2001, I knew I had found his “sound”. The acoustic rifts & samples coupled with the driving yet soulful Vocal was enough. House was his HOME!!

Since the revelation of hearing that Jon Cutler track it has been onwards & upwards for Dj T-on-j. Playing at some of the finest venues around ranging from the Whitehouse in Clapham to Egg in London…gracing the likes of the legendary Pacha and Ministry of Sound along the way. He has also have also established myself as a well travelled international DJ as a well as national one with annual outings in Ibiza, Marbella, Brazil and Columbia. This winter will see T-on-j venture to Australia to play in Sydney and Melbourne over the Christmas and New Year period.

Radio is another ‘string’ to T-on-J bow. He has held down a regular show on Select UK Radio with a loyal fan base who loyally tune in to listen to his vocal, funkin’ and bumpin’ easy listening weekly show from 6.00 – 8.00PM every Wednesday on www.selectukradio.com.

Although T-on-j has experienced and seen so much success he still manages to remain humble. He still maintains that he only DJs because he loves DJing…not for the money, or the women…but because he loves to impart his love of music through performance. This attitude had propelled T-on-j this far already. Who knows where is will propel him in the future…
